R emember the fresh-faced teenage rebellious teenage girl from hit TV series Dawson’s Creek? That was way back in the nineties. Michelle Williams who played the character of Jen Lindley has grown up and now a prominent name in the industry. She has won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Marilyn Monroe and of course was the center of attention upon the passing of her ex-husband actor Heath Ledger.
But is it only us or Michelle Williams is in reality aged in reverse? She looks younger each year and her style has somehow managed to evolve into something that now has placed her among Hollywood’s most stylish. Another thing about Michelle Williams is her hair. We all know about haircuts which have done wonders to the careers of so many superstars in the past (ie: Jennifer Aniston, Jon Bon Jovi, Rihanna and most recently Solange). Michelle’s blonde cropped-do has also made such impact on her acting career. From small roles in indie productions post-Dawson’s Creek, Michelle now commands big Hollywood blockbusters like Deception, Shutter Island, Oz: The Great and Powerful as well as her breakthrough role alongside then husband Heath Ledger in Brokeback Mountain.
Now are you looking for a drastic change of haircut in hope to start fresh and move towards a different direction in life? Or you just simply adore Michelle William’s Mia Farrow’s (circa Rosemary’s Baby) pixie crop? Here are a few simple tips on how to achieve the same haircut.
Accessorize
Who says you can’t accessorize short hair? Look at how Michelle cleverly added a sparkly headband to complete her red-carpet look. You can do the same for a night out in town but stick to something more plain like velvet or leather for daytime.
Lowlights
According to instyle.com- Instead of doing highlights, “you can show off the texture in your haircut by using several different lowlights”. Michelle’s hair shown here is golden blond at the roots and warm blond on the ends.
Variations
Experiment with your short-do. Michelle doesn’t always wear her hair sleek and too perfectly done. Here she does side-swept with messy top and still look gorgeous.
Weird growing out phase
Okay so maybe after awhile you started to feel like you are done with short hair and want to grow it back. Enter the weird growing out phase. Michelle went through this beautifully by trying out several different tricks to make it work. One perfect example is how she was faking an updo with long bangs and a tiny ponytail as shown here in this photo.
So now are you ready for a change? Would you steal Michelle Williams chic pixie-crop and make it your own?
