W e love writing about fashion and clothing for plus-size women. We have received some feedbacks and comments about how it promotes unhealthy lifestyle as well as how writing about them in a way glorifies obesity and giving way too much confidence boost that they stop trying to do anything about their “problem”.
But beauty comes in different shapes and sizes. Being overweight is not always a choice. It is not necessarily that you are unhealthy when you are slightly fuller in figure or the only person at the table who ordered dessert at the restaurant.
We would love to continue our love and support for these plus size ladies. This time around let’s talk about clothing that should be avoided if you have fuller figure. Regardless of the shapes and sizes that you are in, there’s always something that you rather not show or highlight. So here it goes:
Clothes too big or too tight
Oh no! Not again Christina!
Always make sure that the clothes fit perfectly. Clothes that are too tight will show all the bulges that should be well hidden but that doesn’t mean that you have to wear everything loose and oversized. Get professional to measure you and always know your actual size.
Do not wear trend that doesn’t compliment your shape
Queen Latifah always looks great in whatever she wears
Not all trends seen on the runway are good for you. If you know that the season’s skinny silhouette doesn’t work for you, find out what the color and fabrics of the season are instead.
Do not only wear black or darker colors
Adele in black jacket
Although head to toe white outfit may not be a good idea, try to mix it up. Black does hide all the lumps and the bumps but do you think you want to look like it’s funeral everyday? Wear white tank top under your jacket or instead of your usual choice of black pants, opt for something in navy.
Do not buy something that you can’t wear now
Have you been in the situation when you found something that you really like but it was not in your size? You bought it anyway in hope that you can fit into it someday. If your answer is YES, please stop doing that to yourself.
Do not wear wrong accessories
Always wear the right accessories
Accessories should always highlight your best assets. If you don’t like you bossom, maybe you shouldn’t draw attention to them by wearing those pearl necklace. Chunky bracelets may lead the eyes to your arms which you are trying to hide under those long sleeves. Opt for a pair of earrings as it compliment your eye color or whichever accessories that work for you.
