T he much anticipated Grammy was held yesterday. It was an eventful evening and the show’s producer must be ecstatic that the rating went up this year. Madonna didn’t perform a spectacle like at the Superbowl and the usual attention-seeker Lady Gaga was noticeably absent from the red carpet and the stage this year. Maybe it has something to do with the passing of Whitney Houston the day before during the same time Clive Davis’ Pre-Grammy party was taking place.
But in the end it was a triumph over the heartbreak for Adele when she took home all six Grammys that she was nominated for. Her performance was flawless and so did Jennifer Hudson’s tribute to the late Whitney Houston.
With the exception of Nicki Minaj attempt to make a statement with his religious-chic outfit, the celebs were pretty much walking the safer route on the red carpet this year. You be the judge.
Adele in Giorgio Armani. Her hair is lighter and shorter. A great comeback look after a long break due to her throat surgery. This is a perfect look for her big moment.
This Ellie Saab dress received Katy Perry treatment with the matching blue hair.
Fergie’s orange lace dress is one of the pieces from Jean-Paul Gaultier’s Amy Winehouse-inspired collection from SS2012. Read more about it HERE
Taylor Swift ditched her usual cursl and went with an updo to compliment her Zuhair Murad dress. Stunning!
Rihanna’s Giorgio Armani dress caused quite a stir. It has this plunging neckline, high-slit and an open back. She was showing a lot of skin but the simplicity of the dress made it okay.
Corrine Bailey Rae wore this dress by Christian Siriano. Not a good look on her but good thing she won that night.
Jessie J toned down her usual quirky-fun look in this disco ball-esque Julian McDonald number. The look is still fun but less crazy.
And finally we have this. It’s Nicki Minaj and Versace collaboration. Thoughts?
