D oes balance scalp mean anything to you? And if it did not you, eureka read on…This will be the ramblings of a person recently demented with scalp irritation or let’s just cut to the chase, extremely itchy scalp and for reasons unknown although the usual suspect is dandruff which begets one to question an oft answered question on hair commercials, what causes it. And as we have all been informed, accumulation of dead cells but certainly in more sophisticated terms. Anyway, I acquired this absolute itch of fun when I used an expired shampoo.  Yes, one of those days of a  series of coincidences which turns out to be a flash of rare brilliance, much much later.

I had then stopped alternating between the SP Balance Scalp Shampoo and some other shampoo which I already found to be quite good system. Hair is soft and shiny. But I had not yet, put two and two together yet, as in, balance scalp equals healthy hair (duh) and that the SP Pro Balance Scalp was responsible for my hair’s current well being. You know all the theories, well so do I. But somehow when you are opportune like I was to stumble upon the situation as a solution rather than just using it out of sheer faith in the marketing brief, it is quite well, er.. rewarding relief to say the least.

Anyway,  long story  short, the first revelation came after a short trip to Kathmandu. As the electricity supply is quite erratic due to national offloading scheme, I was reduced  to barely wetting hair with shampoo and  freezing cold water (it was springtime and up the hills). My scalp reacted when I came back to Malaysia- hair was very oily and  heavy with residue right after wash and you get this sludgy feel when washing. It is like it refused to be cleansed.  My normal shampoo just did not work. So, I decided to change shampoo and use whatever I could lay my hands on, including SP Pro again. So after two washes with the SP Pro, the residue was gone. Hair turned to normal. So I continued using it as a normal shampoo as opposed to a treatment shampoo.

Until the next time when I decided that having salvaged the new shampoo from the cupboard, I thought I should just give it a try. It was a mistake when the scalp started itching, it was the second or third day before it occured to me that the shampoo could be the problem. I just thought out of curiosity I should check the expiry date and yes…expired October 2010. Straight into the bin it went. So I bought a bottle of  well known anti dandruff shampoo thinking  it would ease the itch. But hair turned oily easily at the end of the day and whenever I sweated, scalp itched.

There was some unfinished SP Pro and I decided out of sheer desperation to just use it since  the problem cannot be gotten rid of. And  I must say, scalp does not itch as much even when sweating. It became my immediate   I did  a little reading on possible reasons of itchy scalp; one of which is build up of residue of dead cells, another is the unbalance pH. Well, whatever it is …I am desperately trying to call the numbers at the back of the press release which I dug out from under the pile to see where I can purchase this product since I have not seen it at pharmacies or hair salons nearby and I don’t like to sit through hair treatments every other day in a  salon.  Alternate hair care with the Balance Scalp Masque, weekly to keep scalp free of dead cells ensuring a healthier scalp. Only problem is all instructions is in German which is a little inconvenient. Scent is mild and refreshing.

This new range is under the range of personalized  hair care series  which has 5 new concentrated infusions exclusively formulated which  combines two different care benefits in one tailor made treatment. This five infusions – smoothen, hydrate, repair, volumize and color save. Truly without exaggeration I get a lot of comments about how healthy my hair is, that aside-scalp has stopped itching since I had been  using it regularly.
