T he end is finally here. The much awaited second part of the infamous tale of the boy wizard has finally come to an end and let me tell you, the cinemas were packed with fans anxiously waiting to see how this movie was going to turn out! Prime seats in the cinemas were sold out days in advance and the anticipation was high. But was the movie worth it? They hit an easy RM120million on opening week!

Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) returns for the final showdown with his old enemy Lord Voldemort and this time, the fight between good and evil is to the death. The war between Lord Voldemort and his followers and those who stand against him fighting for the good of the wizarding world will come to an end where only one will survive.

Was the movie worth it? In a word – yes! The movie was the perfect ending to the saga that has captured the world and the hearts of readers from the moment the first Harry Potter novel was released. The story line and flow was the perfect close to the movie that has been on the big screens for a decade and it certainly finished it off nicely, which is certain to leave audiences satisfied.

Of course it won’t compare to reading the actual book, but the last movie does it a fair amount of justice. You can certainly see how much the actors have improved over the years since the first Potter movie was released – particularly Daniel Radcliffe, who’s acting in the first movie left much to be desired. The final movie shows  what an accomplished actor he has evolved into  since the first movie,  a very commendable performance here.

Like every Potter movie, it would have been nice if they had stuck closer to the original – Potter movies tend to add extra bits here and there that weren’t in the original story – but I wouldn’t complain much because it was still a good watch at the end of the day. Thumbs up for director David Yates, for a job well done and for finishing a story loved my millions around the world in an excellent fashion. Farewell, and my how  we have all  grown with this series and how magic transcends all ages.

Movie Rating: 4 Stars
