We were invited to the launch of Honeypot Wax Boutique in One Utama, and we got WAXED!

Honeypot, winner of the “Best Brazilian Wax 2008″ and “Best of Singapore Tatler” (year 2010 AND 2011) awards hit Malaysian shores one year ago, landing in Bangsar Shopping Centre. Their second outlet is located in One Utama’s old wing, 2nd floor, and is outfitted in Honeypot’s signature style and glamour. With dramatic black crystal chandeliers, funky pink walls and cute products, you can’t ask for better surroundings in which to get your body denuded of hair!

Pretty ritzy, no?

I’m not ashamed to tell you I was nervous at the prospect of getting my legs waxed; I’m not a big fan of pain, and I’d much rather shave. BUT the lady who waxed my legs said that shaving is very bad as you could get ingrown hair (“ingrown hair”, she said in very grave tones), so I’ve been guilted into promising to wax regularly.

And to get waxed in such pretty surroundings is really a treat (pain aside)! The rooms are pretty small, though. Of course, once you get on the bed, the size of the room ceases to matter; but if you’re as clumsy as I am, do not be surprised at the number of times you bump your elbows or knees into things while trying to take off articles of clothing.  That being said, they may be small, but they are definitely very well-stocked.

Powder, oils, moisturisers, wooden tongue depressors (what??), cloth strips, and of course, wax applicators: the white things on the top shelf, right hand side. I stared at the applicators with wide eyes at first, but they didn’t hurt! The waxer (wax assistant? Waxeusse?) was very professional, and my legs were smooth and shiny in minutes, with minimal pain. Fear: overcome.

And check out their range of products! For all your after-wax needs, there are also hygiene products that you can use on a daily basis!
