H aving trouble losing those last few pounds? Seems like you’re doing everything right – you’re exercising regularly, you’re watching what you eat, so what’s the problem? How come those last few stubborn pounds are refusing to budge and leave you alone?

Perhaps it’s time to try switching things up a bit. When you’re body gets too used to something, it starts to stagnate, which is probably why you’re not seeing a drop in those pounds like you were used to seeing before.

What you need to do is shock your body’s system into the “losing weight” mode again, and in order to do that you need to change up your routine from what you have been doing before. Try these few simple tips that just might do the trick:

  • Eat More: No, you’re not seeing things, one tip is to really eat more. According to research, eating five small meals a day could keep your metabolism going and prevent your body from going into starvation mode (where it works to conserve calories). But we’re not talking about stuffing yourself all throughout the day. In this case, it involves eating five small portions of meals throughout the day. Stick to your three meals a day, and include some healthy snacks in between such as nuts or fruits.

  • Extra Workout Time: If you’ve been exercising for 20 minutes before this, add in an extra 5 or 10 minutes into your workout – but make those minutes count! For that final stretch, give it everything you’ve got and really put all your energy into it so that by the end of those 5 or 10 minutes, you’re exhausted. That will give your workout the extra boost that it needs.

  • Weigh Yourself Daily: Weigh yourself every morning before you leave the house. It will help remind you to stay on track throughout the day when you see what the scales say.

  • Keep Track Of What You’re Eating During The Day: It will help you to stay on track too when you know just how much you have consumed during the day.
