Lip Service!

H ands up all of you who find chapped lips annoying. I know I certainly do! It’s totally disgusting having white, peeling flecks of dry and dead skin on your lips that you’re just itching to pull out but know you shouldn’t. They look bad, make your lips look unhealthy, and they botch up your lipstick and lip gloss.

Lips are the most sensitive areas on our face, and they need a lot of TLC if we want to keep them in top condition. Everyone wants kissable, lush healthy lips, and dry, chapped lips are something we need to do away with.

I know you may be tempted to just peel them off and be done with it – I’ve been guilty of that one myself many times – but DON’T do it! It just makes the whole thing much worse. Follow these easy tips instead to get your lips looking smooth and kissable in no time:

  • For dry, peeling skin on the lips, wet your lips and then use a wet toothbrush and lightly brush them across your lips instead of peeling them with your fingers. It helps to exfoliate your lips much better and is a gentler alternative to peeling off the skin.

  • Avoid using lipsticks or lip gloss when you have dry and chapped lips. It makes it look much worse. Opt for lip balms that have a little shine instead so you will still look like you’re wearing clear gloss

  • Lip balms are your lifesaver. I would recommend Vaseline and Kiehl’s. They are by far the most effective products so far for caring for chapped lips and giving them the moisture they need. If your lips are extra dry, remember to keep applying it frequently, especially after eating or drinking.

And remember…DO NOT PEEL!
