T humbs up for Fast Five! Loved it! Guys, if you haven’t watched this in the cinema and if you’re a lover of the Fast And Furious franchise, what are you waiting for? Go and watch it!
Fast Five picks up where the previous movie left off, where Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) and Brian O’Connor (Paul Walker) have busted Mia’s brother Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) out of prison and are now on the run. The trio reunite with former members Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Matt Schulze, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Tego Calderon and Don Omar to pull off one final job in Rio de Janeiro in effort to gain their freedom. But the bad guys in Rio are not the only ones after Dom and Brian, as federal agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) is hard on their trail and will stop at nothing to bring them in.
Sequels or follow ups to the original movies tend to have a bad rep of not being able to match the level of standard that has been set by the original movie, which tends to leave audiences disappointed. But there are a few sequels and follow ups who have stood out from the rest and surprised audiences by just how good it can be. And today, Fast Five joins that distinct group of movies because audiences won’t leave this movie disappointed.
The movie has everything that audiences are expecting to see from the Fast and Furious franchise and it has everything they love – fast cars, the need for speed, amazing driving skills that make you green with envy, hot women and of course, Vin Diesel in action. Even after five movies in the franchise, it is still going strong and reminds audiences why they love the movie in the first place.
The movie falls under the drama, action and adventure genre and it does live up to its name. The action sequences in the movie won’t disappoint, and the same can be said for the driving sequences.
The cast of the movie is also a big part of why this movie was so enjoyable to watch – all of them have such great chemistry on screen. It is like the perfect dream team. This movie has an additional benefit of having a few laughs thrown in there that genuinely keep audiences entertained, and the comedic timing of the movie flows so smoothly that it seems natural and not too put on or over the top like they were trying too hard.
Adding Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson into the mix proves to be a good idea after all as he brings his own spin into the mix.
If you’re a fan of the franchise, and love fast driving and flashy cars, you’d best watch this one in the cinema to get the full impact of the action.
