D o you find yourself making excuses NOT to work out? You’re too tired, too busy, don’t feel like doing it today, maybe you’ll start next week etc. Here’s the thing you need to do – quite making excuses!
If you keep making excuses, you’re never going to get started. We know everyone leads busy, hectic lives these days, but everyone can find at least 10 minutes in their day to exercise surely? Or it not during the weekday, do it during the weekend. At least some exercise during the week, even if it is during the weekend, is better than none at all.
If you can’t find time during your busy work week to get some exercise in there, here are some moves that you can do throughout the day that are so subtle you won’t even realize you’re getting a workout in there!
- Walk: Walk as much as possible. Park further away so you’re forced to walk extra, get up and walk to the bathroom or to get a drink every hour or so at work. If you take public transport that’s great because you’ll be walking already. Walk around during your lunch break. Any excuse you have to walk, do it!
- Squats At Work: If you’re embarrassed to do it at your desk, do some squat moves in the bathroom for privacy. Before you leave the cubicle, do five or ten squat moves to tone your bum and legs. Yes it sounds weird, but it works! Do that every time you visit the loo and you’ll be doing a couple of squats a day already.
- Use Your Water Bottle As Weights: While sitting at your desk, use your water bottle to do some bicep curls or arm workouts. Do one set with your right hand, then switch your water bottle over to your left hand and do the same. And there you have a couple of weight training reps done during a day! With a full bottle of water of course.
- Suck In Your Stomach: While at your desk, sit up straight every hour or so and stuck in your tummy hard, holding the move for about 10 seconds. After 10 seconds, release, and repeat it again. Do this for about a minute or two, a couple of times a day and voila! Stomach workouts done!
Small moves can make a difference and always remember that doing something is better than doing nothing at all.
