True or False: Most of us only apply sunscreen when we hit the beach.

The answer? True. Even I’m guilty of doing this one myself sometimes. Even though applying sunscreen is important, a lot of us just feel lazy of slack off after a while, especially when we are not spending a day outdoors. And with this perpetually summer season we experience, sunscreen is even more important than ever.

But wearing sunscreen only when you’re about to hit the beach or go for a swim is a habit that you should break, because everyone needs to wear sunscreen on a regular basis, and not just when you’re going to be exposed to the sun. Aside from preventing you from being burnt to a crisp, sunscreen is important if you wish to maintain a youthful and healthy look.

Here are some top reasons why you should make applying sunscreen a regular habit:

Ward Off Premature Ageing: You don’t need a lot of magic formulas and special creams to keep the wrinkles and skin problems at bay such as age spots, uneven skin tone and enlarged pores. All you need to do is start with the basic step – sunscreen. Prevention is better than cure so start looking after your skin and give it the protection that it needs from the sun.

Avoid Sunburn: Even when you’re not at the beach, you are still vulnerable to sunburn when you get exposed to the sun on a daily basis. Why spend a bomb on whitening creams when you can help keep the sunburn at bay by spending a few minutes a day applying sunscreen?

Ward Off Skin Cancer: Experts have proven that prolonged exposure to the skin can increase you chances of getting skin cancer, so put a stop to it by applying sunscreen and protecting your skin.

Especially if you start applying sunscreen at an earlier age. Cool huh? Guess we didn’t have to look very far for the secret of maintaining our youth.
