We are well into the new year and smoky eyes still rule the red carpet (and parties!). How to put the “smoke” in smoky eyes? Our tip of the day is to vary the colours you use and don’t just stick to the common blacks and greys. Why not try ambers and violets as well? The updated smoky eye look plays with a hint of shimmer shadow so you’ll get eyes that pop as well.
How to? Simple. For a smoky eye look which you can use for day and night, choose a dark eyeshadow like midnight blue and then layer with a touch of pale blue shimmer shadow. Apply the sheer wash of the light-catching hue around the lashline and sweep what’s left on your brush over your eyelids. For the night look, line the rim of your eyes with a black pencil. If you want to go all the way, add fake eyelashes and you’ll be the centre of attention.
Smoky, smoldering eyes are gorgeous and to match the look, you can go wild with party dresses and sexy tops for parties. Another rule of the thumb to remember is, when you go heavy on the eyes, always keep the rest of your face neutral i.e. you may just want to go with natural lips. Use your favourite light lip gloss or lip balm.
